Smile Designing: Veneers and Makeovers That Still Look Like You

A smile makeover that ignores your lips, gums, and midline looks like someone else’s teeth in your mouth. Smile designing at Dental Castle starts with records — photographs, scans, and how you actually speak and laugh — then a trial smile you can approve before anything permanent is bonded.

What we study

• Colour, length, and width of the front teeth
• Gum display when you smile fully
• Midline versus the centre of the face
• Wear from grinding, and whether the bite can support veneers
• How much enamel we can honestly keep

Tools, not a single product

Porcelain veneers change colour and outline with a thin ceramic shell. Composite bonding repairs chips and small shape issues with less drilling. Enamel contouring is a light reshape when a tiny edge is the only problem. Crowns enter when a tooth is too broken for a veneer. A full makeover may mix these. Whitening first can save you from making veneers too opaque.

The usual path

1. Consultation and smile assessment
2. Photographs and digital records
3. Smile-line simulation
4. Personalised plan and consent
5. Minimal preparation when needed
6. Trial smile (mock-up) on the teeth or a model you can see
7. Cementation of veneers or crowns
8. Review and night guard if you grind

Will my teeth look fake and too white?

Only if we chase a filter. We shade-match to your eyes and skin, not to a celebrity poster. You approve the trial. If the trial looks like piano keys, we do not cement that.

How long do veneers last?

Years, not forever. No biting thread or opening packets with front teeth. Regular checks catch a chip early. Bonding may need polish or repair sooner than ceramic.
