Root Canal Treatment in Hyderabad: Save the Tooth, Quiet the Nerve

The pulp is the living tissue inside a tooth — nerves and blood vessels in a small chamber. Deep decay, a crack, or a knock can inflame or infect it. Then you get lingering pain to heat, a night ache, swelling, or a pimple on the gum. A root canal removes that tissue, disinfects the canals, and seals them so you can keep the tooth instead of extracting it.

What the appointment feels like now

Local anaesthesia first. Isolation with a rubber dam so the tooth stays clean and you do not taste the irrigants. We clean canals with fine instruments and disinfectant, then fill them with a sealer and gutta-percha. Many cases finish in one or two visits. Patients often say it felt like a long filling — not the folklore they were told.

After the canal, protect the tooth

A tooth that needed a root canal is often structurally weak. A crown is frequently the next step so the tooth does not split when you bite. Skipping the crown to “see how it feels” is how we meet you again with a vertical fracture that cannot be saved.

When it is not a simple first canal

• Retreatment — an old root canal that has become infected again
• Apicoectomy — surgery at the root tip when cleaning from the top is not enough
• Trauma — a knocked or cracked tooth, including in children, needs timed decisions
• Regenerative approaches in selected young teeth with open roots

Is extraction cheaper?

The extraction is cheaper on day one. The implant or bridge that replaces the tooth is not. If the tooth can be predictably saved, we will say so. If it cannot — split root, not enough bone, hopeless gum — we will not put you through a canal for theatre.

Why does a tooth still hurt after treatment?

Mild soreness for a few days is common. Severe pain, fever, or spreading swelling is not “normal settling” — call us. Sometimes the bite needs a small adjustment; sometimes there is another canal or a crack we must reassess.
