Metal braces :They are made of biologically acceptable metal alloys. An orthodontist will decide the size and profile of the braces suiting the patient malalignment. Wires made up of Nickel, Titanium, Copper, Stainless steel, Molybdenum alloys are used to engage the braces and lighted with different coloured rubber bands.
Ceramic braces: These braces matches and coincides with the tooth colour give camouflage appearance. However tooth coloured wires and metal wires are minimally visible. Ceramic Braces should be handled carefully since they are brittle. They take little longer duration compared to metal braces.
Self - Ligation braces:They have a smart clip or locking mechanism that holds the wire instead of elastics like regular metal braces. They are specially used in lateral jaw expansion and severe crowding. They are the fastest braces that can complete any orthodontic treatment
Clear braces:These are usually made of resins or moncrystalline ceramics making them transparent and least visible. They specially suggested for female and young patients.
Lingual braces:They are positioned in the inner surfaces of teeth. They are truly invisible and barely anyone knows patient is taking orthodontic treatment. However lingual braces need high patient compliance since it might hamper Patient speech, Hygiene and reduce oral volume. Most of the celebrities prefer such braces inspite of high compliance.
Aligners / Invisalign: Aligners are made up of Doble to multi-layered thermoformed sheets in a sequential pattern of movement planned through CAD design. They are removable and changed every 1 week - 2 weeks depending on the treatment plan. It uses cutting edge 3D technology providing more precise and comfortable treatment to patient.
